Multiphase Electric Motor Drive with Improved and Reliable Performance: Combined Star-Pentagon Synchronous Reluctance Motor Fed from Matrix Converter

چکیده

This paper investigated and demonstrated an electric drive topology with inherently high reliability improved performance. The combines a five-phase combined star-pentagon synchronous reluctance machine (SynRM) power electronic “matrix” converter without vulnerable electrolytic capacitors, which are often point of failure conventional drives. is suitable for harsh environments, possibly ambient temperatures limited maintenance. In this paper, accurate model the SynRM was introduced considering effect magnetic saturation cross on dq-flux-linkages. will be connected to three-to-five-phase indirect matrix (IMC) field-oriented control based space vector pulse width modulation applied. SVM commutates bidirectional switches IMC at zero current enhance minimize switching losses. performance proposed system studied experimentally validated different loading conditions. Finally, reliability, cost, were compared (three-phase star-connected fed from rectifier-inverter).
